Shihan Noel Peters and IGK Tasmania are very proud to announce they’ve purchased their very own dojo in Hobart. This lovely church will be IGK Tasmania’s full time dojo and will secure the continuity of Hanshi Tino Ceberano IGK Karate Do into the future! It will also be Hanshi’s Honbu Dojo at all times and we’re very proud to be a part of that! Stay tuned for more updates and the date of the dojo opening!

IGK Tasmania Hombu dojo Shihan Noel Peters

Hanshi Tino Ceberano said “A great accomplishment!!! As Hanshi and the Chief Instructor of our IGK in Australia and associated dojos internationally, I would like to express what great pride and admiration I have for the Tasmania Dojo to be so dedicated to the cause of a united and faithful group in what is effort, belief, and loyalty to each and everyone involve that such a task only shows proof of their true relationship for our Shihan Noel Peters and to me the Hanshi Tino Ceberano can relate to as how committed the group is.

IGK TasmaniaThis is over and beyond the show of ‘Giri‘ you have done. I am and will pronounce this to be the first owned dojo of IGK as the Headquarters or to be dedicated as the ‘Honbu’ of Hanshi Tino Ceberano in our beloved state Tasmania, Australia.

A blessing has come upon us all for this sign now confirms the beginning of what is a significant compliment to this as what history should be noted…back in June of 1962 a young Marine Cpl aboard the US Navy ship Navasota docked in the Hobart pier. Stepping ashore for the first time on Australian soil was none other than what was to become the Hanshi of the IGK and becoming known as the Father of Australian Karate 54 years ago.

Since the first step to an unknown venture was then imagined came reality as this Dojo be the first representative Dojo by the Tasmanian IGK members be given the honor of Hanshi’s Hombu. This is History and the journey starts with what had been and will be perpetuated by true and loyal students as the Tassie Dojo Seito. God Bless’ Go with the flow, more power to you’ Hanshi Tino Ceberano.”
